Win-Win Cooperation! Central South University and Fosen Technology Jointly Establish New Energy Equipment Laboratory

Against the backdrop of the national "Dual Carbon" strategy, Central South University and FosenTechnology have joined hands to establish a "Joint Laboratory for New Energy Equipment".

Its main R&D directions include the engineering application and optimization of new energy in rail transit and engineering vehicles, as well as artificial intelligence and fault diagnosis.

The laboratory is affiliated with the School of Automation, Central South University, and integrates multiple nationallevel scientific research platforms of the university in the field of rail transit,including the State Key Laboratory of HeavyDuty, HighSpeed and HighPower Electric Locomotives,the National Engineering Research Center for Advanced Energy Storage Materials,the National Joint Engineering Research Center for Rail Transit Train Safety Support Technology,and the International Joint Laboratory for Rail Transit Safety,providing solid support for the industrial application of enterprise technologies.

The laboratory’s R&D team consists of more than 40 members including professors, associate professors, doctors and graduate students, focusing on key technologies such as electric traction control, remote fault diagnosis and intelligent operation and maintenance, battery BMS management system, and autonomous driving.

As the project implementation entity, FosenTechnology’s team members are from Sany Heavy Industry and CRRC, with extensive experience in locomotive manufacturing and retrofitting, ensuring the efficient implementation of technical solutions and long-term reliable operation.

At present, the laboratory has established strategic cooperation with a number of leading enterprises including CATL, BYD, CRRC and Bosch Rexroth, to jointly advance the formulation of new energy equipment standards and industrialization development. The projects cover a variety of scenarios such as steel, mining, railway and port.

Through universityenterprise collaboration and industryresearch integration, the Joint Laboratory for New Energy Equipment is becoming a core engine driving the green and intelligent transformation of traditional locomotives, injecting new momentum into the low-carbon development of China's transportation industry.
